Victoria Lau
Victoria Lau is the Director of Graphic & Web Design for
Gold Coast Communications. She has a remarkable background for a graphic designer, having previously
spent many years restoring old masterpieces such as Monet and Picasso, as well as more contemporary
masters such as Wyeth, Homer and De Kooning. She brings her outstanding skills to advertisements,
brochures, web design and the like, assisted by the finest in visual arts schooling. Ms. Lau is also
responsible for full implementation of web sites for Gold Coast, from concept development and site
architecture to programming and e-commerce.
Previously, Ms. Lau was a designer and art director for Enock Interactive, a web design/development
firm in New York City where clients included Citibank, Nasdaq and Philip Morris. She also designed sites
under her own label, BlueMedia Design, which she founded in 1997. She has created a large number
of unique, innovative and intuitive designs, each stemming from her long training in fine arts.
Before Enock Interactive, Ms. Lau was an art restorer at Alvarez Fine Art Services in New York,
where she worked for five years. Prior to that, she was a printmaker for five years, working with
a variety of mediums such as lithographs, etchings and wood cuts of fine art books. She worked at
firms including Grenfell Press, Derriere L'Etoile Studio and Yama Print, all in New York City.
Ms. Lau received a degree in web design from the School of Visual Arts in New York in 1998.
She received a B.F.A. in fine arts in 1987, with a concentration in printmaking, photography
and ceramics. She is versed in JavaScript, Flash, DHTML, PhotoShop, Illustrator and QuarkXpress
among others computer illustrative programs.
Ms. Lau is a native of Hong Kong.
